Man City are on a quest to become the first ever men’s side to win four consecutive top-flight titles in England, which would be just another bit of history made under Pep Guardiola. Last season’s Treble winners have made the Etihad a fortress, winning 18 of their 20 home league matches since the start of the 2022/23 campaign. That run included a 1-0 win over Newcastle United this season, which has been joined by victories over Burnley and Sheffield United as Man City’s perfect start. It almost came to an end last weekend as Sheffield United equalised late on, but Rodri’s winner with a few minutes to go moved Man City back to the top of the table.

Fulham, meanwhile, have had a mixed start to the season with four points from their opening three games. The Cottagers picked up all three points on the opening day against Everton but suffered a 3-0 defeat at home to Brentford. Last time out, they took an early lead and then came from a goal down to rescue a draw against Arsenal, despite going down to 10 men. The Cottagers lost all six matches against last season’s top four in 2022/23 and are currently on a 14-game losing streak against City, with their last win against the blue side of Manchester coming all the way back in 2009 when Mark Hughes was the opposition manager.

Marco Silva is also yet to pick up a single point in eight Premier League meetings with Manchester City, losing with four different teams (Hull, Watford, Everton, Fulham).

Man City to win > Over 3.5 Goals > Erling Haaland to score 2+ goals

Manchester City have picked up more home points than any other Premier League side since the beginning of last season (55/60), with their home league matches averaging 3.85 goals per game in that time. Last season’s Premier League Golden Boot winner Erling Haaland has been directly involved in 29 goals in just 19 league matches at the Etihad (22 goals, 7 assists) after setting the record for the most goals scored in a single Premier League campaign in 2022/23. Man City team news

In  Out Doubtful
Matheus Nunes Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones Manuel Akanji

Pep Guardiola will once again be without Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian is expected to be out until the new year as he continues his recovery from surgery on his hamstring. John Stones is also out until after the international break, but Manuel Akanji could be in contention following illness. New signing Matheus Nunes’ suspension for Wolves is over so he may make the bench for the champions.

Fulham team news

In  Out Doubtful
Tim Ream Calvin Bassey Willian, Joao Palhinha

Marco Silva will be able to welcome Tim Ream back after the American missed the trip to the Emirates through suspension after being sent off in their 3-0 home defeat to Brentford. But it’s one in and one out for suspension, with Calvin Bassey sent off against Arsenal. Willian could be available but is fighting for match fitness and may not be risked under after the international break. Joao Palhinha’s move to Bayern didn’t go through on Deadline Day, so he may find himself on the bench for this one.
