After going perfect in their opening six games, Man City have hit a touch of turbulence. They were looking formidable as they started the search for an unprecedented fourth consecutive Premier League title, and while that may still come, the Sky Blues need to turn things around.

Pep Guardiola’s side return from the international break off the back of consecutive league defeats, seeing them drop from first to third. First came the shock 2-1 defeat to Wolves before Arsenal snatched a late win at the Emirates in the first meeting between last season’s title rivals.

However, City are just one win away from setting a new record for the most consecutive home wins by a Premier League side across all competitions, beating rivals Manchester United’s previous best of 20 games in 2011. Pep Guardiola has also never lost three consecutive league games during his time in Manchester and will be determined to keep it that way.

Brighton are also winless in their last two matches, but sit just two points behind Man City in the table. The Seagulls won five of their opening six games, including victories over Newcastle and Manchester United. But the win over Man Utd was followed by a 6-1 hammering at the hands of Aston Villa, a result that really shocked the Premier League. Brighton hosted Liverpool in their final game before the international break and took an early lead before having to come from behind to seal a point.

This will be boss Roberto De Zerbi’s 51st match in charge of the Seagulls, with Brighton winning 24 of the previous 50, scoring a whopping 102 goals in the process.

Man City vs Brighton Bet-Builder tip

Over 3.5 goals > BTTS > Man City to win

If you want goals this season, Brighton are your team to watch. The Seagulls have scored a league-high 21 goals in their eight Premier League games so far, but they’ve been letting them in at a far too frequent rate too. Only the bottom three have conceded more goals than Brighton’s 16 this season, though six of those did come against Aston Villa. But, whatever the scoreline, Man City will expect to win given their record against Brighton. Brighton have both scored and conceded in each of their eight games in the Premier League this season, with over 3.5 goals landing in every single one of their league matches so far this term.
