Luton vs Wolves odds
As we enter the sixth gameweek of the 2023/24 Premier League season, Luton are the only team without a point in the division. They have played one game fewer than all but one team above them, but it’s not been a good start. In the top flight for the first time in over 30 years, Luton had a baptism of fire, losing 4-1 to Brighton on the opening weekend. They were then beaten 3-0 by Chelsea, before losing their first home game of the season against West Ham, in controversial fashion. There was no respite after the international break either, with Luton losing 1-0 to Fulham, making the Hatters just the second team to lose their first four games as a Premier League side. However, they may take heart from the take that they have never lost their opening five games of a league season within England’s top four tiers.
Wolves haven’t started much better. Playing one game more than Luton this season, Wolves have won just one of their opening five matches, losing four. It’s the third time they have started a Premier League season with four defeats in their opening five games, after 2003/04 and 2021/22. Gary O’Neil’s side opened the campaign with an impressive performance despite a 1-0 defeat to Man Utd at Old Trafford but followed that up by losing 4-1 to Brighton. There was victory over winless Everton next, but Wolves then fell to defeats to Crystal Palace and Liverpool either side of the international break. The Liverpool defeat was similar to the Man Utd one, as Wolves were unable to make their chances count after taking the lead, eventually falling in the second half.

Luton vs Wolves match tip
Hwang Hee-chang to score anytime @ 11/5 with Ladbrokes
Goals may not be a guarantee in this fixture but one man who will be looking to build on his good start of the season is Hwang Hee-chang. The South Korean has netted three times in his opening five appearances this season, netting in the defeat to Liverpool after just seven minutes.
Luton vs Wolves Bet-Builder tip
Under 2.5 goals, Under 4.5 Wolves corners & Over 2.5 Wolves cards
Luton are the joint-lowest scorers in the Premier League this season, netting just two goals in their opening four games. Wolves, meanwhile, have netted five in their five matches, only scoring more than one in a game on one occasion. Wolves have also been struggling on the corner front, with only Nottingham Forest (17) winning fewer than O’Neil’s men (18). But where they haven’t lacked is yellow cards, picking up 14 in their five matches.

Things are looking pretty good for Wolves, for the first time in a while, with Joseph Hodge and Rayan Ait Nouri the only doubts. The latter had to come off against Liverpool but O’Neil confirmed it to be only muscle fatigue, so should only have kept him away for a few days.
