Can Luton stay in the Premier League?

Not too long ago, people were earmarking this as a potential relegation six-pointer. But Everton have secured their safety after a fantastic week. The Toffees have won each of their past three games without conceding a goal, including one against fellow relegation rivals Nottingham Forest.

The biggest victory, of course, came in the Merseyside derby as they beat rivals Liverpool 2-0 at Goodison Park to all but end their title challenge. Survival was mathematically secured with a 1-0 win over Brentford last weekend, moving the Toffees up to 15th and 11 points clear of relegation, despite their eight-point deduction.

For Luton, the fight is on. The Hatters occupy that final relegation zone, sitting just one point behind 17th-placed Nottingham Forest. But there is also the chance that Forest could get points back after appealing their initial deduction.

For now, though, all Luton can do is win their games and hope they do their own job. They’re not in great form though. The Hatters have lost 10 of their 14 games in the league since the start of February, with just one win over Bournemouth last month.
