Liverpool vs Tottenham prediction, odds, tips and team news
Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur go head-to-head in the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final on Thursday, 6th February, at 8pm (UK time). Arne Slot’s side were beaten 1-0 in the first leg in London but are still the favourites to progress to the final at Wembley. Check out our match preview and best bets below.
Over 11.5 Corners (11/10 with BoyleSports)
Both Tottenham and Liverpool have been generating a high number of corners this season – Tottenham averaging 7.5 per game and Liverpool 6.65. Both sides play an attacking style, relying on quick transitions and wide play, which forces opposing teams into defensive clearances and corner situations. Liverpool’s aggressive pressing and Tottenham’s advanced attacking shape leave defensive gaps, leading to turnovers and opportunities for set pieces. Given these factors, taking Over 11.5 match corners looks a solid proposition.
Liverpool to Win, BTTS & Gravenberch to be carded (15/1 with BoyleSports)
Liverpool have lost just one of their last 27 home games against Tottenham in all competitions (W19 D7), and are unbeaten in 14 (W10 D4) since a 2-0 loss in May 2011. The Reds need to score twice to avoid going to extra time and with the attacking nature of both teams, it’s easy to envisage both finding the net.
Ryan Gravenberch has collected five Premier League yellow cards this season and averaged 1.4 fouls per game. He has also been carded in Europe and with the prospect of a final on the line, I expect a few cynical fouls in what could be a lively contest.

How both teams go into Liverpool vs Tottenham
The 1-0 defeat in the first leg proved part of a wider blip for Liverpool, coming after a 2-2 draw against Man Utd where they twice threw away the lead and before a 1-1 draw against Forest — although they did come from behind in the latter and beat Accrington Stanley 4-0 in the FA Cup beforehand. Since then the Reds have got back on track and have put together five straight wins and now enter another busy period with three games in seven days.
For Spurs, that win proved to be a rare high point in what has been a miserable run. The Lilywhites beat Tamworth 3-0 in the FA Cup straight after but required extra time to do so, while they then went on to lose 2-1 to rivals Arsenal and 3-2 against Everton, trailing 3-0 at half-time in the latter. Spurs have now won three of their last four across all competitions, but with such a poor League position, there is no denying this is a huge game for Ange Postecoglou and the club.
Liverpool team news
Joe Gomez is highly unlikely to feature in this match but Diogo Jota should be back in action well in advance. Trent Alexander-Arnold also misses out through injury.
Tottenham team news
Dominic Solanke, Wilson Odobert, Destiny Udogie and Guglielmo Vicario, and James Maddison all remain sidelined. Radu Dragusin is out for the season, while Brennan Johnson and Timo Werner are both expected to miss out. Micky Van de ven is a doubt.
Liverpool vs Tottenham head-to-head
Tottenham have won two of their last four matches against Liverpool, but haven’t won at Anfield since 2011.
