Liverpool vs Newcastle predictions: Premier League tips, odds and team news
Liverpool will be hoping to extend their lead atop the Premier League table when they host Newcastle United on Monday at 8pm (UK time).
Liverpool vs Newcastle odds
After finishing out of the top four last season, Liverpool are determined to put that right in 2023/24 and so far it’s going better than expected. The Reds go into 2024 at the top of the table, level on points with Aston Villa but crucially having played a game fewer. Part of that has been their home form, which has seen them win 12 and draw two of their opening 14 games at Anfield across all competitions so far this campaign. In fact, Jürgen Klopp’s side have lost just one of their last 51 Premier League home games and are unbeaten in 21 at Anfield (16 wins, five draws) since a 2-1 loss to Leeds in October 2022 and will be hoping to extend that record having gone unbeaten in their last 14 games against Newcastle, winning the last five.
Newcastle, meanwhile, have really struggled away from home so far this campaign having picked up just one win from their opening nine matches away from St. James’ Park in the Premier League so far this season, losing each of the last four on the road. It won’t get any easier at Anfield either, a ground that they have not won at in the last 27 attempts in the Premier League (five draws, 22 defeats), with their last win at this ground coming way back in April 1994.
Eddie Howe’s side go into the new year in ninth, 11 points off the top four having lost four of their previous five in the Premier League and will need to stop the rot sooner rather than later if they want to qualify for the Champions League in back-to-back campaigns.

Liverpool vs Newcastle match tip
Anthony Gordon to be carded @ 11/4 with Sky Bet
Anthony Gordon has impressed since signing from Everton, but has also had a bit of a discipline problem having picked up seven yellow cards in his first 17 Premier League starts this season. Only Joao Palhinha and Nicolas Jackson (both eight) have received more bookings in the Premier League so far this campaign than Gordon, while he will be fired up looking to make his mark back on Merseyside against his former side’s biggest rivals.
