Heading into this latest round of Premier League fixtures Liverpool sit atop the championship table having won 11 of their opening 16 matches. Jurgen Klopp’s men produced another comeback win last time out, having trailed at Crystal Palace, the Reds netted twice at Selhurst Park to run out 1-2 winners. This result means Liverpool have already won four matches in the Premier League this season having conceded the first goal, more than any other team in 2023/24 and one more than they managed in the whole of last season (three).

The Reds have been perfect at home so far this campaign, winning all 12 of their matches at Anfield across all competitions in 2023/24 and are looking to win their opening eight home games of a Premier League season for just the second time after 2019/20. Another three points here would see them become the first side in Premier League history to win 20 games against Manchester United in the competition’s history.

As for Man Utd, they slumped to a second defeat in three matches, leaving them two places below the Champions League places. Erik ten Hag’s men suffered a 3-0 loss against Bournemouth, which was their heaviest-ever Premier League home defeat against a side starting the day in the bottom half of the table. They head to Anfield six points behind the top four and out of Europe all together after defeat to Bayern Munich in midweek. It doesn’t get any easier for Erik ten Hag’s side, having scored just one goal in their last eight away games against Liverpool, having not won at Anfield since way back in 2016 under Louis van Gaal.

Liverpool vs Man Utd match tip

Mohamed Salah to score anytime @ 5/6 with Sky Bet

Mohamed Salah is chasing another Premier League record. Just one week after becoming the first African player to score 150+ goals in Premier League history and the first non-British player to score 200 goals for Liverpool, the Egyptian King can move one step closer to Alan Shearer’s record of 18 consecutive Premier League home games with a goal or an assist with a goal involvement here. There’s no better opponent for Mo Salah to do it against, having scored 12 goals in 12 games against Manchester United for Liverpool. It’s the most goals he’s scored against an opponent for the club, and the most goals any Liverpool player has ever scored against the Red Devils.
