Liverpool vs Manchester City
Liverpool and Manchester City lock horns in a key Premier League title clash on Sunday, December 1st, at 4pm (UK time) with the two sides separated by eight points.
Dominik Szoboszlai Over 0.5 fouls committed & Man City Under 16.5 free-kicks (10/11 with bet365)
With Curtis Jones playing against Real Madrid midweek, it’s likely that Dominik Szoboszlai gets a start on Sunday’s big match.
The Hungarian has been a menace in midfield for Liverpool. He works extremely hard off the ball, and with that comes plenty of fouls.
This season, he has failed to make a foul in only one start, against AC Milan in September. He has started thirteen times in a Liverpool shirt and made a foul in twelve of those matches, with a total of eighteen fouls (1.38 per game).
Manchester City aren’t fouled that much, ranking 15th for fouls drawn at an average of 10.25 per game. Liverpool rank middle of the pack for fouls committed, giving away 11.5 per game in the Premier League. In all competitions this season, Man City have only had over 16.5 free kicks on one occasion, coming against a high-fouling Spurs side in the EFL Cup back in October.
Match Result: Draw (14/5 with bet365)
Man City have lost five of their last six games and have not won since hosting Southampton in October. The pressure is building on Pep and his side.
This will be the first time since April 2017, a whopping 287 matches ago, that Man City won’t go off favourites in a Premier League match.
Liverpool are rightly favourites for this one, but I think there’s more value in the draw. Liverpool are priced around even money (50% chance) to take all three points, which on recent form looks okay. However, I fully expect City to turn the tide at some point, and backing the draw at almost 3/1 could be a nice way to get involved.
Both of their last two meetings ended 1-1, and a scoreline priced around 7/1 on Sunday could well be in with a shout.

How both teams go into Liverpool vs Manchester City
It’s very early in the season, but with Liverpool opening up an eight-point gap at the top of the table, this already feels like a must-win match for Man City. At the very least, Pep Guardiola’s men cannot afford to lose.
Liverpool are enjoying a six-match winning streak across all competitions, while Man City are on an unprecedented six-match streak without a victory. Pep Gurardiola’s side have lost five of those, and another defeat here would see Liverpool become short-priced favourites to win the title.
Liverpool vs Manchester City odds
Liverpool team news
Liverpool should be boosted by having Trent Alexander-Arnold ready to start after Conor Bradley’s suspected hamstring issue. Ibrahima Konate also picked up an injury against Real Madrid, with Joe Gomez set to slot into the starting lineup. Diogo Jota, Alisson, Federico Chiesa and Kostas Tsimikas will all miss out due to injuries.
Man City team news
Jeremy Doku was back in training this week and is available for selection. However, Rodri, John Stones, Oscar Bobb and Mateo Kovacic remain unavailable.
Liverpool vs Manchester City head-to-head
These two sides have enjoyed some epic battles over the years, but now it’s the start of a new era with Arne Slot facing Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City for the first time as Liverpool boss. He will look to end a run of four without a win against the Cityzens, although the last two under Jurgen Klopp ended 1-1.
