Lille vs PSG Ligue 1 prediction: Dogues seeking to halt Parisian momentum

Lille host champions Paris Saint-Germain in a meeting of clubs who both boast 100% records early into the Ligue 1 season.

How both teams go into Lille vs PSG

Lille has started off strong, heading into matchday three with two wins. In their most recent match, they secured a 2-0 victory against Reims and repeated the scoreline against Angers. Lille achieved this feat in the 2003-04 season, winning their first three matches without conceding a goal. The former champions have also scored a league-high 25 goals at home in Ligue 1 this year (in 10 games), with PSG second in this regard (23 in 9).

PSG, meanwhile, could start a Ligue 1 season by winning each of their first three games for the sixth time in the last ten seasons, which would be more than all the other teams combined (five before Monaco-Lens). Luis Enrique’s team started with a 4-1 win over Le Havre and followed it up with a 6-0 victory over Montpellier in their second game, during which they had 27 shots, controlled possession, and scored six goals with four different players.

“I don’t think you saw one star but 16 who came out to fight for Paris Saint-Germain’s colours: 16 stars in attack, 16 stars in defence. That is what perfection is,” the manager said after the win.

Lille host PSG at Stade Pierre-Mauroy on Sunday at 7:45pm.

Lille latest team news

No fewer than five players are missing for Lille, with four ruled out through injury. Nabil Bentaleb, who is recovering from an illness, joins Angel Gomes (knock), Ismaily, Samuel Umtiti, and Akim Zedadka in the infirmary.

PSG latest team news

The champions go into this match without Lucas Hernández due to a knee injury. Presnel Kimpembe and Goncalo Ramos are also unavailable for the trip.

Lille vs PSG head-to-head

After holding PSG to a draw last season (1-1), Lille could go two games without defeat at home against the Parisians for the first time since 2000-2012 (12).
