How both teams go into Leicester vs Brentford
While they aren’t completely adrift, Leicester know they are facing an uphill battle in their fight against relegation. The Foxes tried to combat their poor start to the season by replacing Steve Cooper with Van Nistelrooy, but the Dutchman hasn’t had the desired effect. Leicester have lost eight of their 11 league games under Van Nistelrooy, including an ongoing run of four straight home defeats, punctuated by a win over Spurs, leaving them two points adrift.
At the moment, Brentford aren’t really challenging for anything. They’re too high to be dragged into the relegation battle, but not high enough yet to be challenging for Europe. But the Bees will be hoping they can climb the table, currently sitting 11th. Brentford’s away form was their biggest hindrance earlier in the season, but they are now unbeaten in their past four on the road.
