How both teams go into Ipswich vs Brighton

Ipswich are currently in the relegation zone, but things are looking brighter for the Tractor Boys. They’ve kept faith in Kieran McKenna and are only in the relegation zone on goal difference. Of course, things could be better, with Ipswich having only won three of their opening 20 games this season. But McKenna’s side have taken four of their 16 points from their past two matches.

Brighton are in danger of fading away. The Seagulls currently sit 10th, eight points outside the top four. But they were a lot closer. Fabian Hurzeler’s men have dropped down the table as a result of their eight-game winless run. Brighton have drawn six of those matches, including each of their past four. They haven’t won in the Premier League since November, and have lost as many games in their past eight matches as they did in their first 12.

Ipswich team news

Conor Chaplin may be available for this game, but Ipswich will continue to monitor him. Axel Tuanzebe, Omari Hutchinson and Sammie Szmodics are expected to miss out.

Brighton team news

Brighton will be hoping for positive news surrounding a handful of their players, with Igor Julio the latest to join the injury table. But Tariq Lamptey could be in line to return to contention. Ferdi Kadioglu and James Milner are definitely out, while the likes of Mats Wieffer, Evan Ferguson and Lewis Dunk, alongside Igor Julio, are doubts.

Ipswich vs Brighton head-to-head

The previous Premier League meeting between these two sides finished goalless at the Amex. It was the first game between Brighton and Ipswich since 2017, another Amex draw, only this time in the Championship.
