Two Euro 2024 hopefuls
Hungary start their preparation for this summer’s European Championships with the hopes of continuing what has been an impressive unbeaten run. Since losing to Italy in the Uefa Nations League in September 2022, Hungary have gone unbeaten in 12 games, with a mixture of friendlies and Euro 2024 qualifying.
In Euro 2024 qualifying, Hungary won five and drew three of their eight games, finishing top of their group ahead of Serbia. A settled team, Hungary also face Kosovo in this international break, giving manager Marco Rossi one last chance to take a look at his squad before the summer.
Turkey will also be at Euro 2024, finishing top of their qualifying group ahead of Croatia. They lost once to Croatia in qualifying, but went unbeaten in their next six matches, including a draw with Wales to end the year.
Overall, Turkey also lost to Japan last year, but then went on a four-game unbeaten run across all competitions. That included a 3-2 win over Euro 2024 hosts Germany in Berlin, their most impressive result of the year. Now it’s about building on that ahead of this summer’s tournament.
