This time around they will be looking to learn from their mistakes, starting with a postive result against a Bristol City side they have struggled against. In the last 12 meetings between the two teams across all competitions, the Tigers have won just once and a result here would show a change in fortunes.
The Robins finished just one point off a top half finish last season after a 4-0 defeat to Stoke in their final game ended a run of seven games without defeat. They started the campaign with just one defeat from their opening seven matches (winning three) and will be hoping for another similar start in 2024/25.

Jaden Philogene, Ozan Turfan, Fabio Carvalho, Liam Delap and Aaron Connolly scored a combined 47 league goals for Hull last season, but none of them will be playing for the Tigers this season. Oscar Estupinan has returned from his loan spell and may start upfront, with new signing Ryan Giles favoured in a more attacking position in pre-season. Cody Drameh should start at right-back.

Liam Manning has brought in some attacking reinforcements this summer with the arrivals of Fally Mayulu and Sinclair Armstrong, while Yu Hirakawa has made his loan move permanent. However, Hirakawa will be out for the rest of the month due to an injury picked up while at the Olympics with Japan. Ross McCorie will also miss out with a hamstring problem, while Joe Williams is a doubt.
Experienced trio Andreas Weimann, Matty James and Andy King all left the club over the summer.
