*Odds correct as of 07:00 on January 24

Liverpool are the most successful side in EFL Cup history, and they are just one game away from yet another final. Last lifting the trophy in 2022, Liverpool have won the EFL Cup nine times, one more than Manchester City who had climbed up the standings in recent years. It was Man City who beat Liverpool in 2016, the last time they failed to win the final, though appearances haven’t been too frequent since the 2010s. And they’re in a good position to reach the final, leading 2-1 after the first leg.

Fulham, meanwhile, are looking to reach the EFL Cup final for the first time in their history. In fact, this is the furthest they’ve ever been in the EFL Cup, with their previous best a handful of runs to the quarter-finals — the last coming in 2004/05 when they were beaten by eventual winners Chelsea. Entering in the second round, Fulham had a tough opening game against Tottenham but beat their London rivals on penalties. They then knocked out Championship sides Norwich and Ipswich, before another penalty shootout victory over Everton in the quarter-finals.

Fulham vs Liverpool match tip

Liverpool to win and BTTS @ 21/10

This is a fixture that Liverpool have dominated over the past 10 or so years. Although the Reds did go winless in three games against Fulham between 2020 and 2022, only one of those was a defeat. On top of that, it was a mere blip in a larger run for Liverpool of nine wins in 12 matches since Fulham did the double over the Reds in 2011/12. However, Fulham have scored in each of their past five home games against Liverpool, and will test the Reds defence.

Fulham vs Liverpool Bet-Builder tip

Cody Gakpo to score anytime and over 2.5 goals

Cody Gakpo continued his excellent record in the EFL Cup in the first-leg win over Fulham. The Dutchman scored the winner for Liverpool, to complete the comeback, and kill Fulham’s hopes. It was his fourth goal in as many games in the EFL Cup this season, and Gakpo is the first player to score in four consecutive matches in the competition for Liverpool since Vladimir Smicer in 2000/01. The two games between Liverpool and Fulham this season have seen 10 goals scored, so don’t be surprised if they fly in again at Craven Cottage.
