It has not been the start to life in West London that Mauricio Pochettino was hoping for at Chelsea, winning just one of his opening six Premier League games in charge. They held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw on the opening day before a 3-0 win over bottom side Luton was sandwiched between defeats to West Ham and Nottingham Forest, before drawing 0-0 away at Bournemouth and losing 1-0 at home to Aston Villa. The Argentine is now without a win in each of his last 14 Premier League matches on the road and another away defeat here may see questions start to arise about his tenure.

Infact, no ever present side has picked up fewer Premier League wins (5) or points in 2023 than the Blues (25) and they were the only side not to score a single Premier League goal in September. Mauricio Pochettino has exactly the same record after six Premier League games in charge of the Blues as he did with Southampton (P6 W1 D2 L3). He then went unbeaten in his next six league games with the Saints, picking up 12 points (W3 D3), so he will be hoping it follows the same pattern at Stamford Bridge.

Fulham, meanwhile, have also had a mixed start to the season, recording 1-0 wins over both Everton and Luton, drawing 0-0 against Crystal Palace, drawing 2-2 against Arsenal thanks to a last minute equaliser from Joao Palhinha, and losing to both Brentford and Champions Manchester City, who stuck five past them. However, Marco Silva’s side have kept a clean sheet in each of their last two Premier League games, with no side keeping more shutouts than the Cottagers going into this weekend’s matches.

Adama Traore, Tosin Adarabioyo Kenny Tete

Marco Silva will be without both Adama Traore and Tosin Adarabioyo, so Issa Diop and Tim Ream should continue as Fulham’s centre-back pairing, while Kenny Tete should shake off a knock to take his place at full-back. Willian will be hoping to start against his former side.
