Two Finland vs England predictions

England to Win & BTTS (9/4 with SBK)

England were far from convincing in their 2-1 defeat to Greece on Thursday and showed their frailties at the back. Carsley’s side could have conceded a lot more than two goals and they will have to step up and put in a much improved showing here. England are still expected to get the win, but there is plenty of scope for Finland to get on the scoresheet after finding the net in six of their last seven home matches across all formats.

Correct Score: Finland 1-2 England (8/1 with SBK)

England have failed to score more than two goals in all of their last eleven matches across all competitions, with all those contests featuring fewer than four goals. Finland’s chances of a top-two finish are slim, and they must pick up a result here if they stand any chance of doing so. Two of England’s last five wins have finished with a 2-1 scoreline.

How to watch Finland vs England live

Finland vs England is scheduled for 5pm on Sunday 13th October and will be shown live on ITV1 or via ITVX online and on the app.

How both teams go into Finland vs England

Things started miserably for Finland in their latest Nations League campaign after they suffered a 3-0 loss in Greece. Benjamin Källman netted an own goal between strikes from Fotis Ioannidis, and it didn’t get any better when England emerged as 2-0 winners at Wembley. The occasion saw Harry Kane celebrate winning his 100th cap in style. Kane is among the few constants since the end of Gareth Southgate’s premiership, and the Bayern Munich marksman netted twice to extend his record as the Three Lions’ top scorer. Things then got worse for Finland on Thursday when Robbie Brady’s 89th-minute winner gave the Republic of Ireland a 2-1 win in Helsinki, and their chances of a top-two finish are now looking bleak.

England got their Nations League campaign off to a strong start with wins over Finland and the Republic of Ireland in September. However, Lee Carsley decided to start without a striker against Greece on Thursday, and the Three Lions were beaten 2-1 in their own backyard in an incredibly disappointing performance. Carlsey expects a massive reaction, and his team must pick up a result here if his reign is not to be put under extreme scrutiny.

Finland host England at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium at 5pm on Sunday 13th October.

England team news

Interim head coach Lee Carsley has Harry Kane back from injury for the trip to Finland, but he is expected to start with Ollie Watkins in attack, with Kane having to settle for a place on the bench.
