Ferencvaros vs Tottenham prediction and stats: Will Spurs continue their good European form?
Tottenham Hotspur will look to make it two wins from two at the start of the 2024-25 Europa League when they travel to Ferencvaros on Thursday.
Despite Radu Dragusin’s early red card, Spurs were able to see off Qarabag 3-0 in their first match. Meanwhile, Ferencvaros lost 2-1 away at Belgian giants Anderlecht in their first match.
Ferencvaros win or draw (9/4 with Sky Bet)
Ferencvaros have lost just one of their 10 previous home matches against English opposition, last doing so 3-0 against Leeds United in the European Cup in November 1969. Spurs, meanwhile, have won just one of their last nine away European matches.
Brennan Johnson to score first (7/1 with Paddy Power)
Brennan Johnson has scored a goal in each of his last four appearances across all competitions, with the last two (vs Qarabag and Man Utd) opening the scoring in the 12th and third minutes, respectively.

How both teams go into Ferencvaros vs Tottenham
Record 35-time Hungarian champions and winners of the last six domestic league titles, Ferencvaros didn’t get off to the greatest start to the Europa League league phase campaign last week, going down 2-1 away at Anderlecht. However, they quickly recovered to thrash Puskas FC Academy 3-0 in league play at the weekend, while they bost an excellent home record against English teams, losing on just one of the 10 previous occasions they’ve welcomed a club from England.
As for Spurs, they thrashed Qarabag 3-0 last week despite Dragusin being sent off early. That was followed up by an impressive battering of Manchester United at Old Trafford by the same scoreline, meaning the Lilywhites have bounced back from their north London derby defeat to Arsenal with four consecutive victories. Tottenham have won just one of their last nine away European matches so despite the disparity in budget and quality between these two sides, a draw wouldn’t actually be the worst result.
Ferencvaros team news
The Hungarian champions should have a full squad available to them for this match.
Tottenham team news
Son Heung-min is unlikely to be risked for this match as he works his way back to fitness, while the game will come too early for Richarlison and Wilson Odobert. Dragusin is suspended, meaning Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven will likely continue at centre-back — especially with Destiny Udogie a doubt after coming off injured against Man Utd.
Ferencvaros vs Tottenham head-to-head
This is the first-ever meeting between these two clubs and the first time Spurs have faced Hungarian opposition. They’ll probably be well aware of Ferencvaros’ record against English opposition, although Ange Postecoglou beat them twice during his time as Celtic manager.
How to watch Ferencvaros vs Tottenham live
Ferencvaros vs Tottenham is set for 5:45pm (UK time) on Thursday, 3rd October, and will be broadcast live on TNT Sports 1.
