Everton once again find themselves in a relegation battle thanks to their recent 10-point deduction. However, it took them just 20 days to claw themselves back out of the bottom three after receiving that punishment thanks to their excellent recent form. The Toffees beat Newcastle 3-0 on Thursday to leapfrog Luton into 17th, while they’ve lost just one of their last seven games across all competitions and won each of their last three Premier League away games.

Had they not been deducted 10 points, Everton would head into Sunday’s match in 10th place, one place and one point above their opponents Chelsea. As much as that is a sign of just how good a job Sean Dyche is doing at Goodison Park, it also highlights Chelsea’s continued struggles under Mauricio Pochettino. The Blues have won just five of 15 matches so far this season and head to Merseyside off the back of consecutive away defeats to Newcastle (4-1) and Manchester United (2-1), either side of a 3-2 home win over Brighton.

In  Out Doubtful
Andre Gomes, Dele Alli Jordan Pickford, Dele Alli, Amadou Onana, James Garner, Seamus Coleman

Andre Gomes and Dele Alli are both back in training but this is expected to be too soon, while the Toffees will be hoping to see Amadou Onana back in action. James Garner missed the win over Newcastle due to illness but should return here, but we’ll have to wait and see regarding Seamus Coleman, who came off an hour into his first appearance for over seven months.

Chelsea team news

In  Out Doubtful
Conor Gallagher Carney Chukwuemeka, Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah, Ben Chilwell, Romeo Lavia, Lesley Ugochukwu Christopher Nkunku, Noni Madueke, Malo Gusto

Christopher Nkunku hasn’t been completely ruled out of this game but it is unlikely that he will be involved. Malo Gusto and Noni Madueke are two more on the fence, but the likes of Ben Chilwell, Romeo Lavia, Lesley Ugochukwu and Carney Chukwuemeka are ruled out. Conor Gallagher is back from suspension.
