After a tough start to the season, things are looking to up for Everton. After four defeats and a draw from their opening five matches, the Toffees have now picked up nine points from their last five games, with victories over Brentford, Bournemouth and West Ham in the league. This coupled with the fact that they booked their place in the last eight of the League Cup with a 3-0 win over Burnley in midweek, means there is renewed optimism at Goodison Park.

While for Brighton, their fortunes have reversed. After winning five of their opening six matches, the Seagulls are now without a victory in their last four Premier League games (D2, L2). They followed up a 6-1 hammering by fellow European hopefuls Aston Villa at the end of September with draws against Liverpool and Fulham and a 2-1 defeat to 10-man Manchester City. It’s their longest run without a victory since Roberto De Zerbi’s first five games in charge in October last season (D2 L3).

Although, despite a shock 5-1 defeat to the Toffees last season, Brighton have an impressive record against Everton, losing just one of the last 10 meetings between the two sides and winning their last two league matches at Goodison Park.

Everton vs Brighton match tip

Brighton to win & BTTS @ 13/5 with Midnite

Brighton have won their last two Premier League away games against Everton, having failed to win any of their first eight visits to Goodison Park in league competition (D2 L6). The Seagulls have both scored and conceded in each of their last 14 Premier League games – only Everton (16 in 2012-13) and Aston Villa (15 in 2007-08) have had longer such runs. Meanwhile, the Seagulls could become the first team to both score and concede in their first 11 games in a top-flight campaign in the Premier League era.
