Everton vs Newcastle match tip
On paper, this game doesn’t feel like it will have a winner. Everton haven’t been great at Goodison Park this season with just four points from seven games, beating Bournemouth and drawing with Brighton. Newcastle, however, have collected just five points from their six away league games, with that 8-0 thrashing of Sheffield United joined by draws against West Ham and Wolves.
Everton vs Newcastle Bet-Builder tip
Alexander Isak has suffered a little with injury this season, also playing second fiddle at times to Callum Wilson. But with Wilson injured, Isak is ready to step up. The Swede has scored seven goals in just 10 Premier League appearances this season, including three in his last two away games. This will also be a big game for Anthony Gordon, returning to Goodison Park. The Englishman has thrived at Newcastle this season but has already received six yellow cards in 13 appearances.

Anthony Gordon has received six yellow cards in 13 Premier League games this season.
Everton vs Newcastle odds
*Odds correct as of 15:15 on December 6
While they weren’t miles away from the relegation zone, things were going fairly well for Everton heading into the November international break with 14 points from their opening 12 games. However, 14 turned to four with Everton’s 10-point deduction for breaching the league’s profit and sustainability rules, dropping them to 19th. A blow for Everton fans, it also came just before a tough run of fixtures. The Toffees returned from the international break with a 3-0 defeat to Manchester United, ended a three-game winning run, and also have the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City coming up before 2024. But, crucially, they did win a game against one of the teams around them and now sit just two points behind Luton who have already played this week. Win here and Everton are out of the bottom three.
Newcastle, meanwhile, are maintaining their fight for a top four finish as they look to bring consistent Champions League football to St James’ Park. The Magpies are just three points off fourth-placed Aston Villa having won three of their past four games. They have been big victories too, beating Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United. However, all three of those victories did come at St James’ Park. In their one away trip, Newcastle fell to a 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth.
