Denmark vs Serbia Euro 2024 Prediction: A Key Group C Clash

Denmark and Serbia go head-to-head in Munich for their final group match of Euro 2024.

Denmark vs Serbia Euro 2024 Prediction: A key clash in Group C

Denmark vs Serbia Latest Prediction

In terms of who qualifies — and in which position — this could be the key clash in Group C. It pits two nations who could easily claim the ‘dark horse’ tag against each other, with both having hopes of at least making it through a knockout round or two.

By the time this meeting in Munich comes around, both Denmark and Serbia will have already faced England and Slovenia and given the respective strengths of the two sides, anything less than three points on the board at this stage would be incredibly disappointing.

If that proves to be the case, the winner of this will surely secure second place in the group, while even a draw would likely see both through.  A defeat would lead to a nervous wait to see who are the best third-place teams.

Denmark Latest Team News

Kasper Hjulmand has no shortage of quality at his disposal, with the likes of Christian Eriksen, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rasmus Hojland capable of worrying anyone on their day. The latter will be particularly important after finishing Euro 2024 qualifying behind only Harry Kane (8), Kylian Mbappe (9), Cristiano Ronaldo (10) and Romelu Lukaku (14) in the goalscoring charts, netting seven times in eight appearances.

Denmark will also offer plenty of threat in wide areas, with full-backs Victor Kristiansen and Joakim Maehle needing no second invitation to push forward.

Serbia Latest Team News

There are a lot of household names in the Serbian team. Aleksander Mitrovic is now the country’s record goalscorer and is still in his twenties, despite the fact that he now plies his trade in Saudi Arabia. His teammate at Al Hilal is Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and he should be the beating heart of this side, providing assists as well as being a potential goal threat himself.

Indeed, there are a number of goal threats in the squad, but it will depend on the opening match result and the potential balance of the front line who will be selected to provide the right mixture. Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic can score goals, captain Dusan Tadic is more of a creative type,  and Luka Jovic has been playing at the top level for a few seasons now.

They are likely to play a three-at-the-back system with wing-backs as Filip Kostic and Andrija Zivkovic. The make-up of the three central defenders should be interesting with experience in Nikola Milenkovic and Matija Nastastic competing with the youth of Strahinja Pavlovic and a teenage talent in Jan Carlo Simic, currently at AC Milan.

There is also a battle for supremacy in goal. Vanja Milinkovic-Savic played every minute of the qualifiers but since then, Djorje Petrovic has established himself in the Chelsea first team and arguably has stronger claims to the shirt on club form.
