Crystal Palace vs Ipswich prediction, stats, tips & team news

Crystal Palace will be looking to continue their climb up the Premier League table when they host Ipswich Town at Selhurst Park on Saturday 8th March at 3pm.

The Eagles have lifted themselves up to 12th in the table, six points outside the top half. Things aren’t going as well for Ipswich, who remain in the relegation zone fighting an uphill battle.

Both teams to score (1/1 with Betfred)

Although they are struggling for form, Ipswich have scored in each of their past three away league games. Crystal Palace have also conceded in their past nine home league matches, and 12 of their 14 in total at Selhurst Park this season.

Crystal Palace vs Ipswich Odds

How both teams go into Crystal Palace vs Ipswich

Crystal Palace had a rough start to the season but they’ve put that fully behind them. The Eagles have won four of their past six games to lift themselves away from any talks of relegation — though they were rarely being included in those conversations. Having played 27 games so far, Palace’s record is very appealing, with nine wins, nine draws and nine defeats, scoring 35 goals and conceding 33. Palace’s home form had been a bit of a worry of late, but the Eagles produced a very comfortable 4-1 victory over Aston Villa last time out at Selhurst Park.

Ipswich have a fight of their hands if they want to stay in the Premier League. After 27 games, the Tractor Boys sit in the relegation zone, five points from safety. They’ve not won in seven games, losing five of those, since a shock 2-0 win over Chelsea just before the new year. Although two of Ipswich’s three league wins this season have come away from home, they’re now four without victory on the road, losing two and drawing two.

Crystal Palace team news

Jean-Philippe Mateta has been ruled out after his injury last weekend, while Will Hughes is suspended for an accumulation of yellow cards. Joel Ward remains injured, while Cheick Doucoure and Chadi Riad are out for the season.

Ipswich team news

Ipswich have a host of players facing a late fitness test ahead of his one, with Julio Enciso and Omari Hutchinson among the doubts. But Conor Chaplin and Axel Tuanzebe won’t be back until after the international break. Chiedozie Ogbene and Wes Burns won’t play again this season.

Crystal Palace vs Ipswich head-to-head

Crystal Palace won the game at Portman Road earlier this season, which was their first match against Ipswich since August 2017. The Eagles will be looking to do the league double over the Tractor Boys for the first time since 2009-10, when both sides were in the Championship.
