Chelsea will be licking their wounds after leaving Anfield off the back of a 4-1 thrashing against Liverpool on Wednesday. The result ended the Blues’ three-game winning streak in the Premier League, which had seen them slowly creep up the table. Instead, they now find themselves back in 10th, 12 points outside the top four and five off sixth-placed West Ham.

The Blues also sit just two points clear of 11th-placed Wolves, who are looking to do the league double over Chelsea for the first time since 1974/75. Like Chelsea, Wolves suffered defeat in midweek but they will have felt heartbroken in the manner of their loss to Man Utd. Wolves thought they had rescued a point with an equaliser in the fifth minute of injury time, but Kobbie Mainoo scored an even later winner to send Man Utd home with a 4-3 win.

Chelsea vs Wolves match tip

Half-time/full-time: Chelsea/Draw @ 16/1 with Midnite

In midweek, Chelsea trailed at the break for the first time in the Premier League this season, losing 2-0 to Liverpool. Over the course of the campaign, the Blues’ struggles have generally come in the second half, which doesn’t make for good reading when you look as Wolves’ recent record. Nine of Wolves’ last 11 goals across all competitions have come in the second half of their matches, including three against Man Utd in midweek.

Chelsea vs Wolves Bet-Builder tip

Over 29.50 Chelsea booking points, BTTS and Pedro Neto to assist

Chelsea have had a major discipline problem this season. The Blues have had more cards than any other side in the Premier League at 73 in total, averaging 3.3 per game. They have also struggled defensively, conceding in four of their past five Premier League games, while Wolves have scored in four of their past five. Pedro Neto will be among those looking to trouble the Chelsea defence, as he did against Man Utd off the bench. The Portuguese winger has been directly involved in seven goals in his last seven away games for Wolves across all competitions, including five assists.
