Chelsea vs Newcastle prediction, stats, tips & team news: Side with Jackson to Score on Sunday
Chelsea will be hoping to build on their positive start under Enzo Maresca when they host Newcastle United in the Premier League on the final weekend of October.
The Blues are currently in sixth in the table heading into the weekend, having taken 14 points from their opening seven games. Newcastle are just two points back in ninth.
Nicolas Jackson to Score (9/5 with BetMGM)
Nicolas Jackson managed a very respectable 14 Premier League goals in his first season in England, and he looks well on his way to bettering that tally after recording five in his first eight matches this season. I fancy him to follow up from his goal at Anfield last week with another against Newcastle, who have lost five of their last seven matches in London. Jackson is averaging 0.73 goals per 90 minutes this term and looks a little big at the Dolly Parton price of 9/5 with BetMGM.
Nicolas Jackson to Score & be Carded (10/1 with BetMGM)
Newcastle have lost five of their last seven matches away against teams from London, and they are also on a four-game winless run after their goalless stalemate with Everton last weekend. I’ve already mentioned how I fancy Jackson to score against the Magpies, but I also fancy him to find his way into the book.
Jackson is a player who can easily talk his way into the book, as proven last week at Liverpool, and he has a colourful disciplinary history. He collected ten yellow cards in total last season and already has three to his name this time around. This bet of him to score and be carded in the same game has landed in twice in eight league matches already this season, and at 10/1, I think it’s worth a few quid on Sunday, again with BetMGM.

How to watch Chelsea vs Newcastle live
Chelsea vs Newcastle is scheduled for 2pm on Sunday 27th October and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League.
How both teams go into Chelsea vs Newcastle
Surprisingly, Chelsea are a team that fares better on the road than they do at home in the Premier League this season. All three of the games in which Chelsea dropped points before the October international break came at Stamford Bridge. But that shouldn’t take away from the overall positive start for Maresca.
Managing Chelsea isn’t an easy task, and there are still a lot of improvements to be made, but Maresca has won four of his opening seven games. One of those wins did come at home, against Brighton. But the Blues were unable to build on that, drawing with Nottingham Forest in their next home match, before losing 2-1 at Liverpool last time out in the league.
Newcastle are currently on a run of four games without a win in the Premier League. The Magpies have W3 D3 L2 of their matches so far and need a positive result here or they could be eight points off the top-four heading into November.
Eddie Howe’s men have been indifferent away from home in the league this season. Newcastle have won just one of their four away games so far. But they have also lost just one, with two draws.
