Chelsea vs Luton odds
Pochettino started life as Chelsea manager with a tough home game against Liverpool, and there was yet another draw in that fixture, although at least this time both teams scored after four consecutive 0-0s. Although it was a positive start, in terms of a good result against a Big Six side, the draw extended Chelsea’s poor run at Stamford Bridge. The Blues are now winless in their past eight Premier League matches at Stamford Bridge, their longest such run since November 1994-April 1995 when they went 12 games at home without victory. That draw was also followed up by a 3-1 defeat at West Ham, meaning there is extra pressure on this match.
Luton, meanwhile, had the worst possible start to life on the road in the Premier League. Back in the top flight for the first time since the early 1990s, the Hatters had a tough game to start their campaign, away to Brighton who finished sixth last season. Despite their squad changes, Brighton had too much quality for Luton and ran out 4-1 winners, with Carlton Morris scoring from the spot for the Hatters. And this will be Luton’s second game of the season, with their scheduled home opener against Burnley having to be postponed with work still being done on Kenilworth Road to bring it up to Premier League broadcast and media requirements.
Pochettino uses Klopp metaphor to justify Lukaku role
It’s been no secret all summer that Romelu Lukaku wishes to leave Chelsea. However, with Inter pulling out of the race and Juventus facing fan pressure not to sign him, the Belgian may have to suck it up and prove himself once again at Stamford Bridge unless someone comes from left field to make a bid. That could leave Mauricio Pochettino with an extra experienced striker to use and the Argentine certainly didn’t rule that course of action out, even if he bizarrely drag Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp into the issue in the process.
“I saw Klopp said I will not be in the business [of football if they spend £100m] and then they offered £100m and he says, oh I made a mistake, and something changed,” Pochettino told reporters when asked if he would consider using Lukaku.
Pochettino might want to leave Klopp out of it moving forward given the Liverpool manager’s disdain for Chelsea right now, after seeing his club miss out on not one, but two midfield targets to the Blues this summer — both Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia opting for Stamford Bridge over Anfield. Klopp recently sent a dig Chelsea’s way about their managers ‘ususally’ getting what they want in the transfer market.

Nicolas Jackson to score, over 7 corners & both teams to score @ 13/4 with Sky Bet
Chelsea haven’t had the best of times at Stamford Bridge of late, failing to keep a clean sheet in each of their past six home matches across all competitions, including Luis Diaz’s opener in the 1-1 draw with Luis Diaz. Nicolas Jackson wasn’t on the scoresheet in that game but it was a promising debut with two shots on target from four efforts. Although they lost their opening Premier League game to Brighton, Luton did have seven corners, with only three teams having more across the opening weekend. Chelsea have notched 13 corners in their opening two games combined.
Nicolas Jackson had two shots on target on his Premier League debut at Stamford Bridge.
Luton had 7 corners in their 4-1 defeat to Brighton, while Chelsea had 4 against Liverpool.
Chelsea haven't kept a clean sheet in their past six games at Stamford Bridge.

Over 4.5 cards @ 20/23 with Paddy Power
There have been a few rule changes this season with referees being less lenient on dissent, time wasting and other infractions, which has seen an increase in yellow cards. One of the biggest changes is the booking for players who hold up their own imaginary yellow card, with the hopes of stamping that out of the game. In the opening Premier League weekend, there were 37 yellow cards, with Chelsea receiving three and Luton two. Chelsea picked up another two against West Ham last week.
