Chelsea v Blackburn EFL Cup predictions: Tips, odds and team news
Chelsea and Blackburn face off in in the fourth round of the EFL Cup on Wednesday at 7:45pm (UK time).
Chelsea vs Blackburn odds
Due to no European football, Chelsea started their EFL Cup campaign early, entering in the second round. It wasn’t an easy start for the Blues as they had to come from a goal down to eek out a 2-1 win over AFC Wimbledon. There was a narrow victory in the third round too, though this one was much better for Mauricio Pochettino, as Chelsea knocked out fellow Premier League side Brighton. The Blues are chasing their first piece of silverware since the 2022 Club World Cup, and haven’t won the EFL Cup since 2015 when they beat Pochettino’s Tottenham.
Blackburn, meanwhile, are one-time winners of the EFL Cup, beating Tottenham in the 2002 final. But they are a long way off those lofty heights, currently sitting mid-table in the Championship. As a Championship club, Blackburn entered the EFL Cup in the first round and have already had to win three matches to get this far. They opened with a 4-3 win over Walsall before thrashing Harrogate Town 8-0 in the second round. Last time out they were 5-2 victors against Cardiff City, but saw a three-game winning run across all competitions ended by Swansea at the weekend.
