This was meant to be the start of something good under Erik ten Hag but the Dutchman’s second campaign at Old Trafford has been a disappointment so far. The Red Devils have lost four of their opening six games across all competitions, the latest being a 4-3 defeat to Bayern Munich in their Champions League group stage opener. In the Premier League, Man Utd’s record reads two wins and three defeats from their opening five matches, with two coming back-to-back. After winning their opening game against Wolves, Man Utd fell to Tottenham Hotspur but bounced back with a win over Nottingham Forest. However, they have since lost to Arsenal and Brighton. Two of Man Utd’s defeats have come away from home too, with the Red Devils still pointless after two matches.

But they face a Burnley side who haven’t taken a point at home this season. The Clarets opened the new campaign with three home games, losing to Manchester City, Aston Villa and Tottenham. A poor start to life as a Premier League manager for Vincent Kompany, the Belgian did win his first point away to Nottingham Forest on Monday, but they will have hoped for more.

Burnley vs Man Utd match tip

Marcus Rashford to score or assist @ 1/1 with Betfair

Marcus Rashford did everything but score in the first half against Brighton last weekend and was Man Utd’s brightest attacking spark before the break. And he’ll be hoping to get back on track with an opponent he has enjoyed facing recently. As well as netting in last season’s EFL Cup win over Burnley, Rashford also assisted home and away against the Clarets when they were last in the Premier League.

Burnley vs Man Utd Bet-Builder tip

Man Utd to win & Man Utd most cards

Man Utd may be winless on the road in the Premier League this season but their quality, and Burnley’s home woes, should be enough to get them up and running at Turf Moor. Burnley are also without a win in August and September since September 2019, a run of 13 games (losing nine, drawing four). Man Utd may also win the battle of the yellow cards, though that’s not something to be proud of. The Red Devils have averaged 2.8 yellow cards per game in the Premier League this season, while Burnley’s average is 2.25.
