Will Burnley drag Brentford down with them?
We’ve got ten games left to go of the 2023/24 Premier League season, and some people are already counting Burnley as one of the relegated teams. The Clarets are currently on 14 points from 28 games, and it doesn’t take a mathematician to work out that that’s 0.5 per match. They’re seven points behind 18th-placed Luton and ten from safety; it doesn’t look good.
Burnley have been winless in their last ten games since a 2-0 win at Fulham in December and have managed just three victories all season. This year, the Clarets are winless in eight, their longest run without a league victory from the start of a calendar since making it 12 games in 2007.
Brentford are up in 15th, but that doesn’t mean they are safe from the relegation battle. The Bees are only five points above the relegation zone and not in great form. After winning three consecutive matches in October/November, Brentford have won just three of their last 17, losing 13. Brentford has lost more Premier League games since the first weekend of that run than any other side.
Fortunately for Brentford, the teams around them also fail to pick up points. But another defeat here could put some pressure on them.
Burnley vs Brentford match tip
Yoane Wissa to score anytime @ 39/20 with 10bet
There hasn’t been too much to cheer about for Brentford, but Yoane Wissa is trying his best. The striker has scored in his past three Premier League games and matched his best tally in the competition. Wissa has scored seven goals in all three seasons in the Premier League.
Burnley vs Brentford odds
Brentford are the favourites for this game, but it’s not as straightforward as they would hope. Burnley’s terrible home form this season plays into Brentford’s hands, though you do need to take into account the Bees’ own poor form.
