Eight of the 11 goals Man City have conceded in the Premier League this season have come in the first half of their matches. At the same time, the Citizens have scored 13 goals before the break in their matches, with no team managing more.

Man City to win from behind (7/1 with Sky Bet)

Manc City have conceded the first goal in five of their 10 Premier League games so far this season. But Brighton have dropped 10 points from winning positions in the Premier League this season. The Seagulls led in both of the two league games they have lost this season.

How both teams go into Brighton vs Man City

Brighton have had an interesting first 10 games of the new season, and to life under Fabian Hurzeler. The German has overseen four wins from his first 10 Premier League matches, which is about average in the division this season. But Brighton have also only lost two matches during his spell, with only the top three losing fewer. Chelsea and Liverpool are the two sides to have beaten Brighton, with the Reds claiming victory last time out. It leaves the Seagulls in eighth, though they are just three points behind third-placed Nottingham Forest.

Man City are on their quest for a fifth consecutive Premier League title, having already made history in winning four in a row. The Citizens are very much in the race, sitting two points behind league leaders Liverpool after 10 games. But there will be a bit of a bad feeling around the Etihad. Man City go into this game off the back of their first league defeat of the season, falling to a 2-1 reverse against Bournemouth last weekend. It ended a 32-game unbeaten run in the Premier League for Man City. They have also lost in the EFL Cup and the Champions League, stretching their losing streak to three across all competitions. It’s the first time they have lost three consecutive games in a single season since April 2018.

Brighton team news

Brighton will be hoping for a host of returns ahead of the weekend. Lewis Dunk, Yankuba Minteh, Joao Pedro and Yasin Ayari could all be available for the Seagulls this weekend. Matt O’Riley could also be in contention to make his debut. But it will be too soon for James Milner, Adam Webster and Solly March.

Man City team news

John Stones is a doubt for this game, after a foot injury. The England centre-back will continue to be monitored match-by-match. Ruben Dias and Jack Grealish aren’t expected back until after the international break, with Oscar Bobb a longer-term absentee. Rodri is out for the season.

Brighton vs Man City head-to-head

Man City have won 12 of their 14 Premier League games against Brighton. The two games Man City failed to win both came after the Citizens had already wrapped up the Premier League title in the respective seasons.
