Brentford vs Ipswich Town prediction, stats, tips and team news

Brentford host Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon and Anthony Eadson is on hand to preview the action and provide us with two predictions, which weigh in at 20/21 and 11/1.
Two Brentford vs Ipswich Town predictions
Brentford to Win & Over 1.5 Goals (20/21 with BoyleSports)
Brentford are unbeaten at home in the league this season, having recorded three wins and one draw from their four matches. Ipswich, on the other hand, have yet to win in their eight matches since returning to the top-flight and have recorded fewer shots (74) and fewer shots on target (23) than any other team this season.
Brentford’s last 13 league wins have featured at least two goals, and taking them to win the game with over 1.5 Goals being scored looks like a nice angle at just below even money with BoyleSports.
Bryan Mbeumo to Score & Omari Hutchinson to be Carded (11/1 with Paddy Power)
After Ivan Toney’s departure, Bryan Mbeumo has really stepped up for Brentford and is proving he is the club’s main goal-threat. Only Erling Haaland has scored more league goals this season than the Frenchman, who has notched six goals in eight matches at an average of 0.79 goals per 90. Those six goals have arrived from just 17 shots this season, proving just how clinical Mbeumo can be.
Omari Hutchinson has been booked three times in eight matches this season, with two coming away from Portman Road, at Southampton and Brighton. The midfielder is averaging a foul per game this term, but with a sharp rise in the average number of cards being shown in the Premier League this season, he makes appeal at 4/1 as a single. Combining him with Mbuemo to score pays just north of 11/1 via the Paddy Power bet builder, including the Super Sub Offer.

How both teams go into Brentford vs Ipswich Town
Many expected Brentford to struggle this season after a difficult 2023/24 campaign, especially after losing Ivan Toney in the summer. However, Thomas Frank’s side are unbeaten at home in their four matches. The Bees did lose 2-1 last week at Manchester United and will have been disappointed to come away empty-handed after taking the lead.
Ipswich, meanwhile, are still seeking their first win since returning to the big-time. The Tractor Boys have issues in defence and have shipped ten goals across their last three league matches. Ipswich have collected four points in total, but will be well aware they must improve their form if they are to have any chance of avoiding relegation this season.
Brentford team news
Brentford should be be boosted by the return of Mathias Jensen for Saturday’s clash. Rico Henry is nearing a return to action, while Josh Dasilva, Aaron Hickey and Gustavo Nunes all remain sidelined through injury.
Ipswich Town team news
Axel Tuanzebe, Jacob Greeaves, Ben Johnson, Massimo Luongo and Janoi Donacien are all confirmed absentees for the visitors. Sammie Szmodics is expected to return to the starting line-up at the expense of Wes Burns.
