Bournemouth vs Man City prediction, odds, tips and team news: Back Nunes to continue goal scoring form
Manchester City sit top of the Premier League as we head into November. The Champions travel to Bournemouth on Saturday for a 3pm kick-off. Find out match preview and best bets for the game below.
Manchester City remain the only unbeaten side in the English top-flight and arrive here off the back of three consecutive wins. Pep Guardiola’s side were dumped out of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday and now face a Bournemouth side who have taken four points from a possible six across their last two league fixtures which came against Arsenal and Aston Villa.
Erling Haaland Over 1.5 Shots on Target (5/6 with BetMGM)
Erling Haaland has scored 11 goals in nine league appearances this season but has failed to score in three of those matches. Rather than backing him to find the net against the Cherries, the more appropriate bet for Saturday looks to be backing the Man City talisman to record Over 1.5 Shots on target.
In the Premier League this season, Haaland has registered 27 shots on target, nine more than any other player in the division. Haaland has cleared the 2+ shots on target line in eight of his nine league matches this term, most recently recording three against Southampton in a game where he let off eight attempts in total.
Matheus Nunes to Score Anytime (8/1 with BetMGM)
Followers Squawka will be aware that we correctly recommended Matheus Nunes to score at a massive 9/1 against the Spurs on Wednesday. Nunes has taken up a more attacking role for City this season and has scored in three of his five starts across all competitions. The Portuguese recorded two shots on target against Tottenham in the EFL Cup, and 8/1 looks too big for another goal, with other firms such as Sky Bet pricing him as short as 7/2.
How both teams go into Bournemouth vs Man City
Bournemouth will be on a high right now after their sensational 2-0 win over Arsenal, which came just weeks after beating rivals Southampton comfortably 3-1. It had been a bit of a shaky start for Andoni Iraola’s side, but they secured an excellent point on the road at Aston Villa last weekend, cementing the fact they can pose serious problems for top teams.
Pep Guardiola’s men are now the only remaining unbeaten team with 23 points this term (W7 D2 L0). The bookmakers have City priced as the current favourites to lift the Premier League trophy at the end of the season after their 1-0 win over Southampton last weekend. Midweek, the Cityzens were dumped out of the EFL Cup at the hands of Spurs, but they are well-fancied to get back to winning ways with a win on the south coat.
Bournemouth team news
Luis Sinisterra, Phillip Billing, Alex Scott and Kepa Arrizabalaga are all confirmed absentees for Bournemouth on Saturday. Evanilson is pushing for a start after his goal against Villa when coming off the bench last week.
Man City team news
City’s injury list seems to be growing by the week. Savinho and Manuel Akanji are the latest players to have picked up injuries, joining Rodri, Oscar Bobb, Kevin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker, Jeremy Doku, and Jack Grealish on the sidelines. Josko Gvardiol will be assessed close to kick-off after picking up a knock against Spurs.
Bournemouth vs Man City head-to-head
Bournemouth have never beaten Manchester City, who are on a whopping 15-game winning run in this fixture since the Cherries were first promoted to the Premier League back in 2015. Bournemouth’s last point in this fixture came back in February 1999, when they drew 0-0 in the second division.
