Bournemouth vs Ipswich prediction, stats, tips & team news

Ipswich Town will be looking to keep their Premier League safety hopes alive when they travel to the Vitality Stadium to face Bournemouth on Wednesday 2nd March at 7:45pm. The Tractor Boys are in the relegation zone, nine points from safety. Bournemouth, meanwhile, will be harbouring European hopes, currently five points outside the top four.

Antonie Semenyo Over 3.5 Shots (1/1 with BetMGM)

You may be shocked to hear that no player has let off more shots in the Premier League than Bournemouth’s Antonie Semenyo. The 25-year-old has let off more attempts than all the top-scorers this term and his average in home league matches is 4.3 per game. This bet has landed in six of his last seven Premier League matches at the Vitality with totals of, 4,1,6,4,4,5,5. Other firms such as Sky Bet have this same bet priced at just 4/9, so take the even money offering with BetMGM.

Bournemouth to Win both halves & have the most corners in each half (13/2 with Paddy Power)

The Cherries are priced at just 3/10 to win the match, which looks a little short considering Ipswich have had much longer to prepare for this game with Bournemouth being involved in FA Cup action last weekend. The better way in, looks to be backing the hosts to win both halves and also have the most corners in each half at a boosted 13/2 with Paddy Power. Ipswich have lost four of their last six on the road in the league and despite a slight improvement prior to the international break, I still think The Tractor Boys will be turned over here by one of the most impressive attacking teams in the league this season.

How both teams go into Bournemouth vs Ipswich

Bournemouth have endured a bit of a rough patch, but the Cherries are still in the conversation for a top four finish. Andoni Iraola’s men went into the March international break winless in four, losing three of those. Their sole point came in a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur, but even then Bournemouth lost a 0-2 lead away from home. It’s a run that has seen Bournemouth drop to 10th, with a lot of teams now between them and potential European football.

Ipswich are staring relegation in the face. With nine games left to play, the Tractor Boys have a nine-point gap to try to overcome. And even if they do manage that, Ipswich also have a significantly worse goal difference than 17th-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers. Ipswich have won just three of their 29 games this season. Since their last victory, though, Ipswich have been terrible. The Tractor Boys have lost eight and drawn two of their past 10 games, going into the international break on a run of four successive defeats.

Bournemouth team news

Adam Smith and Luis Sinisterra will be doubts for this game, though things will be clearer once full training resumes. Marcos Senesi and Julian Araujo are expected to be back, but Enes Unal is out long-term.

Ipswich team news

Axel Tuanzebe had to undergo surgery on his thumb and is a doubt for this game. Arijanet Muric is another doubt with a shoulder problem. Conor Chaplin and Sam Szmodics are injured, while Chiedozie Ogbene and Wes Burns are out for the season.

Bournemouth vs Ipswich head-to-head

Bournemouth are unbeaten in their past five games against Ipswich, though four of those were draws. And matches haven’t been too frequent between these two sides this century, with Bournemouth’s win earlier this season their first meeting in almost nine years.
