The Mauricio Pochettino era at Stamford Bridge hasn’t got off to the best of starts, with Chelsea in the bottom half of the table once again. The Blues have won just one of their opening four games with two defeats and a draw, showing Pochettino there is a lot of work to be done even with the big spending in the summer. Chelsea kicked off the campaign with a 1-1 draw against Liverpool which promised positives but they followed that up with a defeat away to West Ham. The Blues did get their first win under Pochettino by beating Luton, and there was a laboured victory over AFC Wimbledon in the EFL Cup. But Chelsea entered the international break with a home defeat to Nottingham Forest and a terrible performance.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, are below Chelsea in the table and still chasing their first win but the fixture list hasn’t been kind. The Cherries are the highest placed of the winless reams in the Premier League, with two points from their opening four games, coming at either end of the opening period. Bournemouth opened the campaign, their first under Andoni Iraola, with a 2-2 draw against West Ham — the only team to take points off the Hammers so far. However, they then fell in defeats to Liverpool and Tottenham before seeing a win snatched away by a late goal in their 2-2 draw against Brentford last time out.

Bournemouth vs Chelsea match tip

Double Chance: Bournemouth/Draw @ 1/1 with CopyBet

This will be Chelsea’s second away league game of the season and there aren’t many reasons for Blues fans to be optimistic. The London club have lost their last three away matches (albeit since a win at Bournemouth) and have taken just nine points on the road in the Premier League in 2023. No Premier League team has take fewer points this year of those who have featured in both the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons.

Bournemouth vs Chelsea Bet-Builder tip

Bournemouth to score first > BTTS > Raheem Sterling to score anytime

Chelsea have kept just one clean sheet across all competitions this season and have conceded the first goal of the game in seven of their last eight Premier League matches.

Raheem Sterling has a fantastic record in his 14 matches against the Cherries across all competitions, scoring 11 goals, providing four assists and being on the winning side every single time. He’s only failed to score or assist in ONE of his 11 Premier League games against them. The forward has also had more touches inside the opposition box than any other player in Europe’s top seven leagues so far this season (49) and needs just one more goal to become just the third Englishman to score 100+ Premier League goals since the beginning of the 2015/16 campaign after Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy.
