Two seasons winding down

The Vitality is about to say goodbye to the Premier League for the summer, with this being Bournemouth’s last home game of the season. For the fans, this will bring something of a party atmosphere, particularly with very little on the line when it comes to the actual football.

These two sides are very much on beach, which is fitting with Bournemouth hosting this match. The Cherries are the higher-placed side, currently sitting 10th, but European football is a huge stretch. They side six points behind seventh-placed Chelsea with two games left to play, and they’d need both the Blues and Man Utd to lose their remaining matches, while hoping for a massive goal difference swing. So, instead, it’s about finishing the season with pride.

The Cherries are in good form at home right now, unbeaten in their past five matches with four wins and a draw against Man Utd. Last time out they beat Brighton 3-0, though they did lose away from home against Arsenal last weekend. Brentford, meanwhile, are safe from relegation having flirted with being dragged into the match. Safety was secured thanks to a five-game unbeaten run with two wins and three draws, coupled with the relegation-battlers not picking up enough points. But Brentford are winless in their last two without scoring, losing 1-0 to Everton before a goalless draw with Fulham last weekend.

Victory here would see Bournemouth set a new record for most wins in a Premier League campaign (14) as well as taking them over the 50 point mark for the first time ever.

Bournemouth vs Brentford match tip

Yoane Wissa to score anytime @ 11/5 with Midnite

Brentford haven’t scored in their past two matches, but on the road Yoane Wissa is a man to worry about. The forward has scored in four of his past six Premier League away games, netting five goals during that time. This is a stark contrast to teammate Ivan Toney, who has failed to score in any of his last 10 Premier League games for the Bees.

Bournemouth are odds-on favourites for this one, and it’s easy to see why. The Cherries have won four and drawn two of their past six home league games since a 1-0 defeat to Man City in February. At the same time, Brentford have lost 12 of their 18 away league games this season.
