Borussia Dortmund are one of three teams still unbeaten in the Bundesliga going into gameweek seven, and they currently sit fourth, with four wins and two draws. Last season’s runners-up in the most agonising fashion, Dortmund opened the Bundesliga with a win over FC Koln but were then held by Bochum and Heidenheim. They have since bounced back with three wins over Freiburg, Wolfsburg and Hoffenheim, to sit just two points behind early leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

Union Berlin were fantastic last season in securing a top four finish but they are struggling right now. Riding high in the early weeks, Union Berlin did win their first two matches, beating Mainz and Darmstadt, with both games finishing 4-1. However, they haven’t managed to add to those two wins, with four consecutive defeats going into this weekend. The disastrous run started with a defeat to RB Leipzig, with Union Berlin spiralling to lose to Wolfsburg, Hoffenheim and Heidenheim.

Borussia Dortmund vs Union Berlin match tip

Borussia Dortmund to win to nil @ 2/1 with Sky Bet

Borussia Dortmund haven’t had the most solid of defences in the Bundesliga this season but they’re facing an Union Berlin that have been seriously struggling in front of goal. After scoring eight goals in their first two Bundesliga matches, Union Berlin have scored just one in their past four, only netting in a 2-1 defeat to Wolfsburg. Away from home across all competitions, they have lost their last two without scoring.

Borussia Dortmund vs Union Berlin Bet-Builder tip

Marco Reus to score anytime & 4+ corners each team

Marco Reus goes into this game in a bit of form, scoring in his past three Bundesliga matches. The first of that run came in an 18-minute cameo against Freiburg before netting the only goal in a 1-0 win over Wolfsburg. Then, last weekend, he found the net in the 3-1 win against Hoffenheim. Union Berlin may be struggling in the Bundesliga but they are averaging six corners per game this season, while Dortmund’s average is 4.83.

Ramy Bensebaini, Thomas Meunier, Mateu Morey Marcel Sabitzer

Ramy Bensebaini was sent off in Borussia Dortmund’s 3-1 win over Hoffenheim last weekend and sits out here through suspension, with Edin Terzic having a dilemma on how to replace the left-back. Terzic is also without Thomas Meunier and Mateu Morey, while Marcel Sabitzer is a doubt.

Midfielder and captain Emre Can has endured a tough start to the season, so much so that he’s been dropped to the bench in recent league games — though he did start in the Champions League against AC Milan — and lost his place in the German national team for upcoming friendlies against the United States and Mexico. However, Terzic is backing his skipper to regain his form and says he can already see positive signs.

“Emré is an extremely important player for us and especially for me as a coach,” Terzic said. “He knows, of course, that he is not in absolute top form. But we know he will get there. We will help him with that. I think he has shown an upward form in the last few outings.”

New Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann has insisted Can’s omission from the squad is purely to ‘take a bit of pressure off’ the former Liverpool midfielder in order to help him rediscover his best form.

“Emré is not having an easy time at the club right now,” Nagelsmann told reporters. “I also want to take a bit of the pressure off him. He is an outstanding player who needs time right now. I don’t want to put him under additional pressure.”
