Benfica vs Vitoria odds
Benfica are the defending Primeira Liga champions and opened their 2023/24 campaign by beating runners-up (and cup winners) Porto in the Portuguese Super Cup. However, their title defence got off to the worst possible start as they were beaten 3-2 by Boavista in a game which saw both sides go down to 10 men, and Boavista scoring twice in injury time. The defending champions did get back on track almost immediately, beating Estrela Amadora and then Gil Vicente, the latter another 3-2 game with multiple goals in injury time, though this time is was in Benfica’s favour.
However, they face the surprise leaders of the Primeira Liga, even at this early stage. Vitoria are by no means a small team, finishing sixth in the Primeira Liga last season, but they had a disastrous start to the campaign. Before the league got underway, Vitoria took part in the second qualifying round of the Europa Conference League and were knocked out by Slovenian side NK Celje. But they bounced back once the Primeira Liga started with victories over Estrela Amadora, Gil Vicente and Vizela to sit top of the table, one of three teams still perfect.

Benfica to win & Angel Di Maria to score
Vitoria may be perfect in the league this season but they haven’t faced any opponent of note, so this will be a big test of what they can do.
