Aston Villa vs Manchester City match tip
Some are predicting Erling Haaland to be in hot water after his reaction and outburst towards referee Simon Hooper following Man City’s 3-3 draw with Tottenham at the weekend. But for now, Haaland will play on as normal and the Norwegian will be looking to continue his good run of form away from home. Haaland has scored a brace in each of his last two away Premier League games, bagging twice against Man Utd and Chelsea. He’ll be hoping to become just the third player to score 2+ goals in three consecutive away Premier League appearances, after Dennis Bergkamp (September 1997) and Harry Kane (September 2017).
Aston Villa vs Manchester City Bet-Builder tip
Man City’s defence has been extremely rocky of late, with Pep Guardiola’s side conceding in each of their last four games. But not only that, they have conceded nine goals in that time, including four against Chelsea and three vs Tottenham at the weekend. On the road, Man City have conceded at least two goals in two of their last four away league games, also shipping two in a 2-1 defeat to Wolves. It’s not a good time, then, for them to be travelling to Villa Park, with Aston Villa having won their last 13 Premier League home games.
Man City have conceded in each of their past four league games.
Aston Villa have won their last 13 Premier League home games.
Man City have concede 2+ goals in two of their last four away league games.
Aston Villa vs Manchester City odds
*Odds correct as of 07:00 on December 6
What a matchup this has turned out to be. Going into this game, Aston Villa are fourth, just four points off top spot and only one behind Man City. They have won four of their last six games, only losing to Nottingham Forest in what was a bit of a shock defeat, picking up victories over West Ham, Luton, Fulham and Tottenham. At the weekend they had to rescue a point against Bournemouth, but they’ll be a lot more confident going into this game with their 13-game winning league streak at Villa Park.
Man City, meanwhile, lost further ground on top spot at the weekend with their third consecutive draw. The defending champions surrendered first place last weekend after their 1-1 draw with Liverpool, with Arsenal overtaking them. And after the Gunners laid down the gauntlet on Saturday, Man City were unable to keep up the chase, dropping points at home to Tottenham. It leaves them three points off top and on their worst winless streak in the league since 2017 (four games).
