Mikel Arteta’s men are third in the table, one point behind Manchester City and just five adrift of leaders Liverpool with a game in hand.
Now looking to make it six league wins in a row, after a shock 1-0 defeat to Porto in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie, they face a Newcastle side that have not scored a Premier League away goal against the Gunners since December 2014. Arsenal have gone unbeaten in their last 11 Premier League home games against the Toon Army, with last season’s goalless draw ending a 10-game winning run.
This season, Newcastle, have also struggled on the road, picking up just 11 points away from St. James’ Park. However, after five straight away defeats in the Premier League, Eddie Howe’s side have won the last two with victories at Villa Park and the City Ground.
