Arsenal’s unbeaten start to the 2023/24 Premier League season faces it’s biggest threat yet as they welcome Treble winners and the side that pipped them to the title last season, Manchester City to the Emirates for what looks like another classic encounter between the two sides. The Gunners made light work of Bournemouth last weekend to take them to 17 points for the season, with a 4-0 victory thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Ben White and Kai Havertz, who finally got off the mark for his new side from the penalty spot. However, a defeat to French side Lens in the Champions League in midweek has put a slight dampener on things.
Just as Arsenal were extending their unbeaten run, Man City were losing theirs, with their 100% start coming to a shuddering stop after a surprise 2-1 defeat to Wolves at Molineux. Julian Alvarez had cancelled out Ruben Dias’ own goal 13 minutes into the second half, as City pushed to find a winner, but it was Hwang Hee-Chan who found of the back of the net with his sides first shot on target of the game to dish out the first defeat of the season for Pep Guardiola’s side.

City have the perfect chance to get back to winning ways however, as they face one of their favourite sides, with Arsenal having lost their last 12 Premier League games against Manchester City, scoring just five times and conceding 33 against them in that time. It is their longest ever losing run against an opponent in their league history.
