Arsenal vs Fulham odds

A lightning start last season propelled Arsenal into title contention. Mikel Arteta will be looking for a repeat as the Gunners seek to create another opportunity in ending their 20-year championship wait. Arsenal won 14 of their 19 home games last term and began this season with a 2-1 success over Nottingham Forest, followed up by a hard-fought 1-0 victory away at Crystal Palace. Fulham started this season running out 1-0 winners on the road at Everton, they managed seven wins away from home during the 2022/23 season. It’ll be a tall order to register a win here as Fulham to date have never won on Arsenal soil, while the Cottagers were soundly beaten 3-0 at home to Brentford last time out.

Is Declan Rice already the Premier League’s signing of the summer?

Declan Rice has only played two Premier League games for Arsenal since his huge-money move from West Ham but already, he’s justifying the lengths the club went to in signing him. The England international has completed 91% of his passes so far, while providing a defensive shield with six tackles and two interceptions.

Whether or not Rice will provide enough to help Arsenal go one better and win the title this time around remains to be seen, but he’s drawn rave reviews from former Scotland international Ally McCoist. The ex-Rangers striker believes Rice comes out on top in a summer stacked with top-class midfield moves such as Moises Caicedo, Mateo Kovacic and Alexis Mac Allister.

“No prizes for guessing, for me I think he’s been, and I knew he would be, absolutely terrific since he’s gone to the Arsenal and that would have to be Declan Rice,” McCoist said. “I think he’s a solid citizen, he’s obviously got bundles and bundles of talent but even when your back’s against the wall you want him in your team.”

Liverpool legend and Sky Sports analyst Jamie Carragher has also been a fan of Rice’s move to Arsenal, highlighting the midfielder’s ability to transition into a box-to-box role.

“Declan Rice was the best player on the pitch,” Carragher said on Sky Sports following Arsenal’s win over Palace. “I actually like him in the role he played tonight more than popping up between the lines. His initial position was to start in that deeper position and drive forward from it. I think that is where he is at his best.

“He has talked about learning different things from the manager, playing further forward, maybe playing in pockets. I don’t think it fully suits him but I really liked what I saw. It felt like everything went through him. He was in the centre of the pitch, he was getting the ball, he was switching play – a couple of great 50 to 60-yard passes.

“But also when he made that run, he slipped a little pass to Nketiah. He was the best player on the pitch. I thought he was outstanding.”
