Arsenal vs Dinamo Zagreb prediction, stats, tips and team news

Arsenal and Dinamo Zagreb go head-to-head in a Champions League clash on Wednesday, 22nd January, at 8pm (UK time). The match will be broadcast in the UK live on TNT Sports 2. Find our best bets and match preview below.

Arsenal to Win to Nil (8/11 with Sky Bet)

Mikel Arteta’s men are priced at just 1/9 to win the game on Wednesday, and in my opinion the much more attractive bet is for Arsenal to win to Nil at 8/11. The Gunners haven’t conceded a single goal from open play in the Champions League this season, with both of their goals conceded coming from set pieces (one corner, one penalty). Arsenal have the lowest xG faced from open play in the competition this term (2.4).

Since the start of last season, no side has won more home matches in this competition than Arsenal (W7 D1) and only three teams better their 21 home goals. In this timeframe, the Gunners have also kept the most home clean sheets of any side (7).

Gabriel to Score Anytime (5/1 with Paddy Power)

I’m expecting Arsenal to rack up the corners at The Emirates, and as ever Gabriel will be a threat from set-pieces. The Brazilian has five goals across all formats this season, including a goal against Sporting in the 5-1 win in Portugal in November. No team across Europe’s top five leagues have scored more goals from set-pieces since the start of last season than Arsenal.

How both teams go into Arsenal vs Dinamo Zagreb

Arsenal bounced back from their defeat to Inter by thrashing Sporting CP 5-1 away and Monaco 3-0 at home. That’s left the Gunners third in the Champions League table with 13 points on the board from six games. A place in the knockout rounds is already assured and now, it’s all about trying to stay in the top eight for Arsenal.

As for Dinamo, they’re 24th in the Champions League table, just above PSG and Stuttgart in the final round of 16 playoff spot. The Croatian side were held to a 0-0 draw at home against Celtic in their last European match, but they’ve already managed wins away at Slovan Bratislava and RB Salzburg.

Arsenal team news

Ben White, Bukayo Saka, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Ethan Nwaneri will all remain sidelined for this match, William Saliba is out with a hamstring injury for a couple of weeks.

Dinamo Zagreb team news

This will be Dinamo Zagreb’s first game back from the winter break. Arijan Ademi, Bruno Petkovic and Josip Misic have all been struggling with injuries but should be fit to face Arsenal. Bruno Petkovic is likely to miss out with a groin strain.

Arsenal vs Dinamo Zagreb head-to-head

These sides have met four times previously, with Arsenal beating Dinamo Zagreb three times in the Champions League group stages, twice in 2006 and once in 2015. However, the Croatians did beat the Gunners 2-1 at home in September 2015.
