The Dutch side have picked up just eight points from their opening nine games in the Eredivisie so far in 2023/24, struggling at the bottom of the table. They did end a four game losing streak across all competitions last weekend however, with a 2-0 victory over fellow strugglers FC Voldenam, but they have a long way to go to get back on track.

Brighton, meanwhile, have finally gotten to grips with European football in their debut campaign, coming back from 2-0 down to earn a point with Marseille and winning the aforementioned reverse fixture 2-0 thanks to goals from Joao Pedro, who made it four goals in three games in the Europa League this season, and Barcelona loanee Ansu Fati. The Seagulls have struggled to pick up wins on the whole, however, drawing four and losing three of their last eight matches across all competitions.
