It was a rough weekend for Everton as they lost at home to West Ham 1-0 while learning that influential midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure is going to miss out for a lengthy period of time with a broken foot. It continues a mixed run for the Merseysiders who have two wins, two defeats and a draw in their last five. At Goodison Park, the Toffees had won their three prior to that defeat against the Hammers.
Watford manager Claudio Ranieri could not have asked for a worse start to his time as Liverpool ran rampant beating them 5-0 in his debut. It continues their winless run to three and with tough fixtures on the horizon it could get worse before it gets better. On the road, the Hornets have lacked bite losing three of their four and failing to score in each of these defeats.

Everton vs Watford: Match Stats
Under 2.5 goals looks the play here as the hosts still have doubts over key strikers Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison while the visitors barely made it out of their half against Liverpool. While Everton will be a little easier it is still to be expected that Ranieri will set up with at least seven men behind the ball.
We talked before about the injuries Everton have and the drop in class is clear with Iwobi and Rondon not on the same level as the men they are replacing. The home side might finally break through but they could be made to wait so backing the game to be without a goal in the first 45 minutes looks the correct play.
