Fulham have made a strong start to the 2022/23 Premier League season following their promotion back to the top flight. Marco Silva has the Cottagers purring, with his side currently unbeaten in three and knocking on the top-six door. Everton meanwhile bounced back from three straight defeats last time out to comprehensively beat Crystal Palace 3-0. Frank Lampard will be hoping to build on that momentum.

Indeed, Fulham have looked determined to banish the ghosts of past Premier League seasons by avoiding early talks of relegation trouble. Five wins from their opening 12 games, in which they have scored 22 goals, has given them a platform to build on and laid down a marker for the season. Nine points currently separates them from the bottom three, and they will want to bolster that buffer this weekend.

Everton have blown hot and cold this season under Lampard, but appear to be looking up rather than down. The Toffees are currently 12th in the table and could move level on points with Liverpool by the time their game finishes, with their Merseyside rivals not concluding their match-up against Leeds until later that evening.

Fulham v Everton match stats

Only Ivan Toney (seven) has scored more right-footed goals in the Premier League this season than Aleksandar Mitrovic (six). The former also ranks third behind only Erling Haaland (17) and Harry Kane (10) for most goals overall (nine). He is just two off his best-ever Premier League tally in 2018/19 (11 goals).

Fulham have been solid this season, but they tend to start games slowly. Silva’s men have netted only seven first-half goals compared to their 15 after the restart. Incredibly, only Man City (18) have scored more second-half goals than Fulham this term. Expect a tight first half, but for Fulham to come alive after the interval.

It was a chaotic, see-sawing contest the last time these two clubs converged on Craven Cottage. Dominic Calvert-Lewin broke the deadlock for Carlo Ancelotti’s side in only the first minute, before Bobby Reid restored parity 15 minutes later. A quick-fire double from Calvert-Lewin and Abdoulaye Doucoure then put Everton firmly in the driving seat at half-time, while then Chelsea loanee Ruben Loftus-Cheek grabbed a consolation for Scott Parker’s men. The neutral will be hoping for a similarly riveting affair this weekend.
