Crystal Palace vs Burnley: Predictions
Palace currently sit comfortably outside of the relegation zone; however, they could be quickly dragged into a relegation battle if they fail to pick their form up soon. This game against a struggling Burnley could offer Roy Hodgson the perfect chance to get his side’s season back on track.
Sean Dyche’s side crashed out of the FA Cup with a midweek defeat to Championship side Bournemouth. The Clarets still have a comfortable eight-point gap on the relegation zone, but they should view this game as an opportunity to move a step closer to Premier League survival.
A lack of consistency has hurt Palace this season. Hodgson will have been pleased to see other players than Wilfried Zaha chipping in with goals in their 2-1 victory over Newcastle last week which was then followed up by a disappointing 2-0 loss away to Leeds.
Although some fans may be disappointed not to progress past lower league opposition, Burnley will enter the game on Saturday with a mainly rested starting XI after Dyche sent out a changed starting XI against Bournemouth.

Crystal Palace vs Burnley: Match Stats
Eberechi Eze has netted three times this season in the Premier League and two of those goals have come from outside the penalty area. The majority of the 22-year-old’s shots have also come from outside the area and he will be looking to get on the scoresheet against a Burnley side who have only kept one league clean sheet since the turn of the year.
The past few meetings between the sides have been fairly tight and with three valuable points at stake, it could be the same on Saturday as neither side may want to risk losing the game.

29 June 2020 – Crystal Palace 0-1 Burnley – Premier League
30 November 2019 – Burnley 0-2 Crystal Palace – Premier League
2 March 2019 – Burnley 1-3 Crystal Palace – Premier League
1 December 2018 – Crystal Palace 2-0 Burnley – Premier League
The two sides have both tasted victories against each other in recent meetings, however, with valuable points on the line it is a possibility this meeting could be a lot more reserved with neither side wanting to end the game pointless in the danger of falling closer to the drop zone.
