Colombia will be looking for an instant bounce back from their goalless draw against Venezuela on Thursday night. Reinaldo Rueda’s men currently sit second in their group with Brazil occupying the top spot, however, Los Cafeteros will face a Peru side slumped rock bottom of the group – albeit having only played one game.
Peru tasted a hefty defeat in the opening game of their Copa America adventure. Although they shipped in four goals on the night, Ricardo Gareca’s men should not have their hopes dampened as it did come away with the favourites to win the tournament, Brazil. But Sunday’s game is not expected to provide them much on an easier ride against a Colombia side who are yet to concede.
Monday’s hosts will be without Luis Diaz after the midfielder was shown a straight red card in the draw against Venezuela on Thursday, despite only coming on as a substitute. The Colombians come into the game as heavy favourites to seal the three points and their recent record against Peru would suggest why.
