Chelsea vs West Brom: Predictions
Following the dismissal of Frank Lampard, Chelsea have transformed their fortunes under Thomas Tuchel, who remain unbeaten with the German tactician at the helm after 14 games across all competitions, and are now firmly ensconced in the top four and looking to strengthen that grip this weekend.
The immediate forecast for West Brom is poles apart from their hosts this weekend, with expert escapologist Sam Allardyce yet to have the desired effect in the Black Country and looking increasingly likely to drop down to the Championship unless he can mount a late surge.
The Baggies remain 10 points adrift of safety with less than 10 games to go, piling the pressure on Allardyce to now start collecting points in every game, and not just in contests against the middling clubs and those around them, meaning a result at Stamford Bridge is almost non-negotiable at this stage.
But, the Blues have their own aspirations to finish this season as strong as possible, and while they may be eyeing up a Champions League quarter-final clash with Porto, Tuchel will be determined to continue riding the crest of a domestic wave, and securing a top-four finish.

Chelsea vs West Brom: Match Stats
The difference in tactical approach between Lampard’s Chelsea and Tuchel’s is almost day and night, with the latter piecing together a compact, disciplined and defensively ruthless side, capable of shutting teams out dominating the ball with an irrepressible authority.
Such an approach has proven exceptionally fruitful, and while Chelsea may not be the most enjoyable of sides to watch under the German, they are effective. In fact, the host are yet to concede a single goal in their five Premier League home games under Tuchel, who is just one short of Ron Saunders record for Man City in 1973/74, as the only manager to complete six successive shutouts in their opening six home games in charge of a top-flight English club.

The reverse fixture of this contest really summed up the chaos at both ends of the pitch under Lampard, with the Baggies racing to a 3-0 half-time lead, before the Blues rallied after the break and ultimately secured a dramatic late equaliser through Tammy Abraham in the 93rd minute. A six-goal thriller to set the neutral bouncing, but an unlikely scoreline this time around under the tactical disciplinarian Tuchel.
