Chelsea vs Everton: Predictions
Chelsea have felt the full force of football’s much-vaunted ‘managerial bounce’, with Tuchel so far overseeing a revolution in west London which has seen him go unbeaten in his opening 10 games at the helm, as well as firing the Blues back into the top four in convincing style.
The Achilles heel under predecessor Frank Lampard was a rather porous backline but the German has had the Midas touch in that department, with the Blues posting eight clean sheets since the Bridge underwent a changing of the guard, including in games away to Atletico Madrid and Liverpool.
Everton, likewise, are currently riding the crest of a wave, and enter this contest having collected a midweek win, edging a lukewarm contest at the Hawthorns just before Chelsea inflicted another defeat at Anfield for the reigning champions, meaning these two clubs tee off on Monday in fourth and fifth respectively.
In that regard, this is as much a six pointer for the top four. A win for the visitors would see them leapfrog the hosts, but a home triumph would extend the gap between the clubs from just the single point, to four. So, Carlo Ancelotti returns to his old stomping ground very much looking to upset the apple cart.

Chelsea vs Everton: Match Stats
There has been a defensive revolution in west London, with Chelsea going from susceptible to sure-fire almost overnight, and that has been down to Tuchel’s emphasis on a more possession-based game. He has kept eight clean sheets from his opening 10 games, conceding just twice in that time, and he could become the first manager in Premier League history to see his side keep a clean sheet in each of his first five home games in charge.
Naturally, keeping so many clean sheets has meant a considerable reduction in the number of goals being scored in Chelsea fixtures. In fact, there have been under 2.5 goals netted in nine of his 10 games at the helm, and at present, there have been few signs of that trend abating any time soon.

It was a sobering experience for Frank Lampard against his former mentor, Ancelotti, back in December, with his side suffering a 1-0 defeat on Merseyside. The Toffees will now look to complete their first league double over Chelsea since the 1978/79 campaign, when the Blues finished bottom of the top-flight with just five wins from 42 games.
