Cardiff enter their first full season under Steve Morison who took over as boss in October 2021. The former Norwich and Millwall forward has been active in the summer bringing in a dozen new faces most notably Sheyi Ojo from Liverpool and Callum O’Dowda from Bristol City.
The Bluebirds finished 18th last time out and will be looking to improve on a defence that was joint sixth worst last season. They will need someone to step up and grab goals as defender Aden Flint was their leading scorer in the last campaign with just six.
Norwich are considered bookmakers favourites to claim the Championship trophy following their return from (another) brief stay in the top-flight. Dean Smith could not keep them up but will hope to get them promoted with the new signings of Isaac Hayden (loan) and Gabriel Sara boosting the midfield.
Teemu Pukki will once again be tasked to lead the line for Norwich while youngster Adam Idah was just breaking into the first team before a season ending injury. At the back Dean Smith must tighten a team up who leaked goals in the Premier League.

Cardiff vs Norwich match stats
The East Anglian outfit have a wealth of talent going forward at this level but shipped goals at the back. Steve Morison meanwhile has stated he wants Cardiff to play on the front foot this season so backing both teams to score appeals here.
Tired legs could be a concern for both sides given this is the first game of the campaign and match sharpness will not be 100 per cent. Both teams to score in the second-half is also a bet that looks of interest.

It has been advantage to the Canaries in recent meetings between the pair with Norwich coming out on top in their last three meetings. Todd Cantwell will hope to feature and has netted in his last two against Cardiff.
