With the Premier League season drawing to a close, Burnley continue to fight for their lives in a battle to avoid relegation. They come into this game off the back of three wins in a row, lifting themselves to 16th place and plunging Leeds United right into the thick of things.
The hosts are by no means clear from danger though with just two points separating Burnley from Everton, who occupy the final relegation place. The side have been rejuvenated since Mike Jackson took over in a caretaker role and they know another win this weekend will be a massive step forward in their bid to be playing Premier League football again next season.
Aston Villa, meanwhile, are playing for nothing more than pride with the Midlands club safely in midtable and that lack of motivation could be a reason they have won just one of their last five league games. That victory came in their last outing though, a 2-0 win over Norwich, and Steven Gerrard will be hoping his side will be able to build on that win and end the season on a high.
It’s been another season of progress for Villa with Gerrard being appointed earlier in the season and having a good impact on the club. They will be looking towards a top half finish next season but, for this, another season of midtable safety will have to do for the Villains.

Aston Villa have been a little more exciting, with 44 goals in 34 games, and this holds up in away games for Villa as the side continue to average more than a goal a game when on the road.
